Sensory Analysis
We use sensory methods such as aroma profile analysis and triangle tests to objectively evaluate and compare aromas in order to accurately record odor profiles and clearly identify differences between samples.
The most important sensory method in aroma analysis is aroma profile analysis. For this purpose, the intensities of defined odor descriptors are rated on a scale by a trained panel. Aroma profile analysis is particularly helpful when comparing samples, but also, for example, when describing off-flavors. The results are presented in a so-called “spider web diagram”, making dominant odor impressions or differences between samples easy to identify at a glance.
Triangle tests are used to identify significant differences between samples. In addition to aroma profile and triangle testing, we also offer other sensory methods upon request – please feel free to contact us.
